Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Koike Aronson MasterGraph EX2 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Koike Aronson MasterGraph EX2 is a floor-rail gantry for multi-torch plasma and oxy-fuel cutting of heavy plate. It is built as the MG-EX2 1500, 2500, 3100 and 3700, takes plasma systems from 200 to 800 amp and has a table capacity of 10 in (254 mm). Rapid traverse is 1,400 ipm (35.6 m/min) and maximum contour speed 600 ipm (15.2 m/min).
Width on this machine depends on how many torches ride the beam. With 5 slave stations fitted the MG-EX2 3700 has 144 in (3,658 mm) of effective cutting width; with 2 slave stations the same machine has 168 in (4,267 mm), because parked carriages take up beam length. Size the gantry from the torch count first and the plate width second.
The tool count is the reason to choose it over the PlateProXHD. Up to 9 tools, 7 slave stations and 8 oxy-fuel stations are listed, against 4 oxy-fuel stations on the PlateProXHD, with a Hi-Lo oxy-fuel gas system rated for 10 in (254 mm) of thickness. Plasma or marker stations are limited to 2. Koike names the 3D-LT Plasma Bevel Head as the bevel option on this model.
Construction follows from that load. The gantry is a fabricated solid steel beam with an integrated back shelf that carries the electrical enclosure, driven on both sides through a helical rack by 6HP AC brushless servo motors, on a 37kg triple machined rail. The control is the Hypertherm EDGE Connect, and the machine needs 480 VAC 3-phase at 30 AMP. Effective cutting length starts at 250 in (6,350 mm) and is expandable.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Four: the MG-EX2 1500, 2500, 3100 and 3700. With 5 slave stations their effective cutting widths are 60 in (1,524 mm), 96 in (2,438 mm), 120 in (3,048 mm) and 144 in (3,658 mm). Machine width runs from 177 in (4,496 mm) to 261 in (6,629 mm). Effective cutting length is 250 in (6,350 mm) and expandable.
02
Because the usable width depends on the number of slave stations on the beam. The MG-EX2 2500, for example, has 96 in (2,438 mm) with 5 slave stations and 120 in (3,048 mm) with 2 slave stations. More carriages mean more beam length lost to parking them.
03
The table gives a maximum of 9 tools, 7 slave stations, 8 oxy-fuel stations and 2 plasma or marker stations. Koike states that the steel band clamp sets the placement and spacing of up to 9 carriages.
04
The machine CNC is the Hypertherm EDGE Connect and the drive system is AC servo. The brochure describes 6HP AC brushless servo motors, a dual side drive helical rack and pinion, and a 37kg triple machined rail on a floor-mounted base.
05
Mainly in control and oxy-fuel equipment. The MasterGraph Katana MGK uses Koike's Katana control, lists up to 10 tools and 8 slave stations, and offers Hi-Lo, Autogas or IHT oxy-fuel systems. The EX2 uses the Hypertherm EDGE Connect, lists 9 tools and 7 slave stations, and adds the narrower MG-EX2 1500.
