Overview
The Hyundai WIA SE2600Y Series is a family of four Y-axis CNC turning centers with a 10-inch chuck, available in standard and long-bed configurations with optional sub-spindle. The series includes: SE2600Y (standard), SE2600LY (long-bed), SE2600SY (with sub-spindle), and SE2600LSY (long-bed with sub-spindle). All four variants feature an 18.5/15 kW spindle, 6,000 RPM live tooling, and a wedge-type Y-axis BMT55 turret on the proven SE-platform roller guideway architecture.
All SE2600Y variants share an 18.5/15 kW (25/20 hp) belt-driven spindle running at 3,500 RPM with 470.9/286.4 N.m of torque through a 10-inch chuck. This is a significant step up from the SE2200Y's 8-inch chuck and 167 N.m torque, enabling the SE2600Y to handle larger-diameter workpieces with more aggressive material removal. Maximum turning diameter is 380 mm (15 in) across all variants.
The standard SE2600Y and SE2600SY offer 653 mm turning length with X/Y/Z travel of 255/110/680 mm. The long-bed SE2600LY and SE2600LSY extend turning length to 1,073 mm with Z-axis travel of 1,100 mm for shaft-type components. The SY and LSY variants add a 6-inch sub-spindle with 660-1,080 mm ZB travel for automatic part handoff and backworking. Rapid traverse of 30/10/30 m/min on X/Y/Z with 15 m/min on ZB provides good positioning speed on the LM guide platform.
New SE2600Y Series machines price between $95,000 and $180,000 depending on configuration. The series competes with the DN Solutions Lynx 2600MSY, Mazak Quick Turn 250MSY, and Okuma LB3000 EX MY. The Fanuc 0i Plus controller with 15-inch touchscreen provides a modern operating interface.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Four configurations (Y/LY/SY/LSY) allow precise matching of capability to application without overspending
- 10-inch chuck with 470.9 N.m torque handles larger workpieces than the SE2200Y's 8-inch platform
- 6,000 RPM live tooling through the BMT55 wedge-type turret delivers productive milling on steel and aluminum
- Sub-spindle variants (SY/LSY) enable complete done-in-one machining with automatic part handoff
- Long-bed variants extend turning length to 1,073 mm for shaft-type components in a single setup
- Modern Fanuc 0i Plus control with 15-inch touchscreen provides intuitive operation and programming
Limitations
- 3,500 RPM spindle speed is lower than the SE2200Y's 4,500 RPM, limiting surface speed on smaller-diameter work
- 30 m/min rapid traverse is adequate but slower than premium linear-guide competitors
- 6-inch sub-spindle is smaller than the 10-inch main chuck, limiting backworking capability on larger parts
- Hyundai WIA North American service network is smaller than Haas, Mazak, or Okuma dealership coverage

Frequently Asked Questions
01
SE2600Y: standard bed, Y-axis, no sub-spindle. SE2600LY: long bed (1,100mm Z), Y-axis, no sub-spindle. SE2600SY: standard bed, Y-axis, 6-inch sub-spindle. SE2600LSY: long bed, Y-axis, 6-inch sub-spindle. Each variant adds capability: L for longer parts, S for backworking.
02
The SE2600Y uses LM guides for speed; the HD2600Y uses box ways for maximum rigidity. The SE2600Y has more torque (470.9 N.m versus 400.7 N.m) and faster live tooling (6,000 RPM versus 6,000 RPM). The SE2600Y also offers sub-spindle variants (SY/LSY) while the HD2600Y does not. Choose the SE2600Y for production speed and versatility; the HD2600Y for heavy-duty cutting.
03
SE2600Y starts around $95,000-$120,000. SE2600LY long-bed runs $110,000-$135,000. SE2600SY with sub-spindle prices at $135,000-$160,000. SE2600LSY with long bed and sub-spindle reaches $155,000-$180,000.
04
Yes. With a bar feeder, parts catcher, and the sub-spindle for automatic part handoff, the SE2600SY/LSY is well suited for unattended production. The 12-station turret and Fanuc control with tool life management support extended lights-out runs. One operator can monitor multiple machines.
