How much does the Honor Seiki VL-66AT cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Honor Seiki VL-66AT that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Honor Seiki VL-66AT doubles up the VL-66 frame. Each of its two spindles carries a 457 mm (18 in) chuck and runs 25-2,000 rpm, and each of its two turrets has 12 tool positions. The capacity rows read 800 mm (31.4 in) of swing, 760 mm (29.9 in) of turning diameter, 750 mm (29.5 in) of turning height and 650 kg (1,433 lb) of workpiece weight.
Why a twin at this size? Because an 18 in chuck part is too heavy to flip by hand and too common to machine one end at a time. Wheel hubs, differential cases, flywheels and medium flanges all need both faces cut. Putting the two operations side by side in one enclosure lets a hoist or robot move the part a short distance from the first chuck to the second, and keeps both spindles cutting.
Honor Seiki's description allows for the other use as well: the same operation on both sides. With a single-operation part, that turns the VL-66AT into two VL-66A/AR lathes sharing a footprint and an operator. The capacity figures are the same as that single-spindle model's.
Turning height is generous for a twin. The VL-66MT in the next column is limited to 650 mm (25.5 in), so tall hubs belong on the AT.
The standard list covers a hydraulic 3-jaw chuck with rotary cylinder, coolant through the turret, a coolant tank with bed wash down and a hinge type chip conveyor. The page does not state spindle power, travels, machine weight or the distance between the spindles. Options include a spindle motor upgrade, a dual speed gearbox, an automatic door and a Siemens controller.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two spindles with 457 mm (18 in) chucks and 12+12 tool positions
- 750 mm (29.5 in) turning height, against 650 mm (25.5 in) on the VL-66MT
- 760 mm (29.9 in) turning diameter and 650 kg (1,433 lb) workpiece limit
- Runs two operations in sequence or the same operation on both sides
- Hydraulic 3-jaw chucks with rotary cylinders are standard
Limitations
- Top spindle speed is 2,000 rpm, below the 2,500 rpm of the VL-46AT
- Spindle spacing, floor space and machine weight are not published
- No spindle power or torque figures
- Part transfer between spindles is left to the buyer's automation

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum swing 800 mm (31.4 in), maximum turning diameter 760 mm (29.9 in), maximum turning height 750 mm (29.5 in), chuck diameter 457 mm (18 in), spindle speed 25-2,000 rpm, 12+12 tool positions and maximum workpiece weight 650 kg (1,433 lb).
02
The capacity figures match the VL-66A/AR row for row, and Honor Seiki describes the Twin series as having two spindles and two turrets. The page does not confirm that every figure applies per spindle, so ask the maker, but that is how the table reads.
03
The VL-66AT turns 760 mm (29.9 in) in diameter and 750 mm (29.5 in) in height. The VL-66MT turns 700 mm (27.5 in) and 650 mm (25.5 in). Swing, chuck, speed range, tool positions and load limit are the same.
04
The optional accessories on the Twin series page include an automatic door, a workpiece probe, a tool presetter, a chuck position sensor and a turnkey project service. No loader or transfer unit is specified on the page itself.
