How much does the Hanwha XD26III cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hanwha XD26III that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hanwha XD26III turns stock up to Ø26 mm (1.0 in) at up to 8,000 rpm and carries more driven tooling than the XD26II: 5 ER16M cross drill tools where the XD26II has 4, and 8 ER16 back tools where the XD26II has 4. The back tools sit on a Y2 back tool unit, 4 fixed and 4 driven, and run at up to 8,000 rpm.
It is also a bigger machine. Length and width are 2,460 x 1,290 mm (96.9 x 50.8 in) and weight is 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), compared with 2,700 kg (5,952 lb) for the XD26II. Controls are the Hanwha Fanuc i or the Siemens 828D. With Fanuc the main spindle is listed at 2.2/5.5 kW (3.0/7.4 hp) and the sub spindle at 1.5/2.2 kW (2.0/3.0 hp); with Siemens the figures are 16 kW (21.5 hp) and 2.59 kW (3.5 hp). The sub spindle reaches 8,000 rpm, the same as the main.
Stroke is one place where this model differs from the Ø20 mm XD20III. Both give 240 mm (9.4 in) of Z1 with the guide bush (H), but without it (N) the XD26III has 80 mm (3.1 in) where the XD20III has 60 mm (2.4 in). The OD tools are 5 on □16 mm shanks, and the front block holds 5 ER16M tools, listed as Front 5 / Back 5, plus 2 ER16 off-center drill tools.
Cross drilling runs at 6,000 rpm. Driven tool power, front and back, is 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) with Fanuc or 1.02 kW (1.4 hp) with Siemens, which is drilling and light milling territory. For installation Hanwha lists 6.9 kVA, 5.5 kW on a VCTF 10SQ x 4C cable and 120-150 L/min of air. An optional back tool arrangement of back 6, cross 2, turning 2 is also listed.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 8 ER16 back tools on a Y2 unit, where the XD26II has 4
- 5 ER16M cross drill tools at 6,000 rpm and 2 ER16 off-center drill tools
- 80 mm (3.1 in) Z1 stroke without the guide bush (N), longer than the 60 mm (2.4 in) of the XD20III
- Sub spindle and back tools both run to 8,000 rpm, matching the main spindle
- Air demand of 120-150 L/min and a 6.9 kVA, 5.5 kW power requirement
Limitations
- At 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) it weighs more than the 2,700 kg (5,952 lb) XD26II
- Main spindle is limited to 8,000 rpm; the XD20III reaches 10,000 rpm
- Driven tool power is 1.0 kW (1.3 hp) with Fanuc and 1.02 kW (1.4 hp) with Siemens
- The 16 kW (21.5 hp) Siemens spindle figure is above the 5.5 kW power requirement and the table does not say what rating it is
