Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Gurutzpe GSM 10 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Gurutzpe GSM 10 is the entry size of the GSM slant-bed turnmill: a lathe with a milling-boring column, Ø 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of swing, up to 8,000 mm (315.0 in) between centers and a workpiece weight of 6,000 / 8,000 kg (13,228 / 17,637 lb). Gurutzpe describes the range as complete turning-milling-boring (5 axis).
One swing figure covers everything. The table gives the Ø 1,000 mm (39.4 in) as the swing over bed, carriage and steady-rests, and Gurutzpe adds that it is limited by the backwall. On a flat-bed lathe the carriage usually takes a slice out of the swing; here it does not.
The turning headstock is rated 74 / 90 kW (99.2 / 120.7 hp) and 9,420 / 11,460 Nm (6,948 / 8,453 lb-ft) at S1-100% / S6-60%, with a top speed of 1,500 rpm. It is the only GSM size with a single speed figure and the only one with a choice of spindle bore, Ø 110 / Ø 150 mm (4.3 / 5.9 in). The C axis positions at 15 rpm.
Milling is done by a B-axis head on a hydrostatic RAM. The head swivels ±110° and is listed in four versions, from 5,000 rpm with 1,410 Nm to 18,000 rpm with 165 Nm, on C8 or HSK-T100 / C6 or HSK-T63 interfaces. Tools come from a chain-type or robot-based magazine with 50 / 80 / 100 posts.
Two things are missing from the page. The Y-axis stroke row does not hold a usable figure, and no machine weight or footprint is given. Ask Gurutzpe for both. The control is a SIEMENS 840D.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- One swing of Ø 1,000 mm (39.4 in) over bed, carriage and steady-rests
- Headstock rated 74 / 90 kW (99.2 / 120.7 hp) and 9,420 / 11,460 Nm (6,948 / 8,453 lb-ft) at S1-100% / S6-60%
- Spindle bore offered as Ø 110 / Ø 150 mm (4.3 / 5.9 in), the only GSM size with a choice
- B-axis milling head swivels ±110° and brakes each 0.001º for light-medium work
- Tool magazine with 50 / 80 / 100 posts, chain-type or robot-based
Limitations
- Workpiece weight between centers tops out at 6,000 / 8,000 kg (13,228 / 17,637 lb); the GSM 13 is listed at 10,000 / 15,000 kg (22,046 / 33,069 lb)
- Up to 8,000 mm (315.0 in) between centers is the shortest of the GSM sizes
- Gurutzpe's table gives no usable Y-axis stroke, and the X-stroke is only described as defined for 200 mm long tools
- The B axis locks only each 2.5º for heavy-duty turning and milling

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A slant-bed turnmill: a monoblock cast-iron slant bed lathe with a milling-boring column. Gurutzpe describes the GSM range as complete turning-milling-boring (5 axis), aimed at finishing the workpiece in a single set-up. The GSM 10 swings Ø 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and takes up to 8,000 mm (315.0 in) between centers.
02
The table lists 6,000 / 8,000 kg (13,228 / 17,637 lb). These are two capacities to choose between. If the work is heavier, the GSM 13 is listed at 10,000 / 15,000 kg (22,046 / 33,069 lb) with Ø 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of swing.
03
Maximum power is 74 / 90 kW (99.2 / 120.7 hp) and maximum torque 9,420 / 11,460 Nm (6,948 / 8,453 lb-ft), both given for S1-100% / S6-60%. Maximum spindle speed is 1,500 rpm and the C-axis positioning speed is 15 rpm. The spindle inner bore is Ø 110 / Ø 150 mm (4.3 / 5.9 in).
04
The table gives four versions side by side. Power is 49 / 56 / 60 / 85 kW (65.7 / 75.1 / 80.5 / 114.0 hp), torque 1,410 / 305 / 165 / 530 Nm (1,040 / 225 / 122 / 391 lb-ft) and speed 5,000 / 6,000 / 18,000 / 8,000 rpm, all at S1-100% duty cycle. The tooling interface is C8 or HSK-T100 / C6 or HSK-T63.

Gurutzpe names a SIEMENS 840D control system for the GS series, with pre-built ShopTurn and ShopMill modules for specific cycles. That statement is made for the series as a whole, not in the GSM 10 column of the table, so confirm the control version in the quotation.
