The GF Machining Solutions AgieCharmilles FORM X 400 is a premium sinker EDM designed for the most demanding precision mold and die applications. As the smaller platform in the FORM X series, the FORM X 400 delivers the highest level of accuracy and surface quality GF offers in a compact work envelope, targeting shops that produce optical molds, medical device tooling, connector molds, and other applications where surface finish and dimensional repeatability are non-negotiable.

The FORM X 400 provides X/Y/Z travels of 400 x 300 x 350 mm with a maximum workpiece size of 820 x 582 x 250 mm and an 800 kg workpiece weight capacity. Despite its compact footprint, the machine integrates the full FORM X precision package: dielectric oil temperature stabilization to within ±0.5°C, the highest-resolution Intelligent Power Generator (IPG) configuration, and full ITM active thermal compensation. This combination enables surface finishes as fine as Ra 0.08 micron, approaching optical-quality surfaces directly from the EDM without manual polishing.

The AC FORM CNC control includes a comprehensive technology database with optimized parameters for thousands of electrode-workpiece material combinations.
