FANUC Robodrill α-D21LiB Plus

The FANUC Robodrill α-D21LiB Plus is a 3-axis vertical machining center with 21 tools and travels of 700 x 400 x 330 mm (27.6 x 15.7 x 13 in). In FANUC's table it differs from the Robodrill α-D14LiB in one row only: 21 tools instead of 14 tools, on identical travels and the same 300 kg (660 lb) table load.

So the question this model answers is how long your tool list is. Twenty-one positions leave room for duplicate drills and taps on a long unattended run, or for two or three part numbers to stay set up side by side without pulling holders between jobs. If every part you make finishes on a dozen tools, the extra positions sit empty.

The envelope is the smaller of the two FANUC lists at this X length. Z is 330 mm (13 in), and that has to cover the fixture, the part and the tool hanging below the spindle nose, so tall vises and long drills compete for the same space. The Robodrill α-D21LiB5ADV keeps 21 tools and 300 kg (660 lb) and opens the strokes to 500 mm (19.7 in) in Y and 400 mm (15.7 in) in Z.

Spindle speed is 10,000 rpm as standard. A 12,000 rpm tapping / high-acceleration spindle and a 24,000 rpm high-speed spindle are listed as options. The control is the FANUC Series 31i-B Plus.
