Overview
The Citizen Cincom R01-VI is the latest generation of Citizen's ultra-micro sliding headstock automatic lathe, purpose-built for turning parts with a maximum machining diameter of just 1mm. The VI designation represents the sixth-generation evolution of the R01 platform, incorporating refinements to spindle accuracy, thermal stability, and servo response that push the boundaries of what is achievable in sub-millimeter CNC turning.
The R01-VI's dual spindles reach 20,000 RPM on both main and back spindle, delivering the high surface speeds mandatory for productive cutting at sub-millimeter diameters. At 1mm diameter, 20,000 RPM translates to approximately 63 m/min surface speed. The main spindle bore is 10mm, and maximum machining length reaches 20mm per chucking with the fixed guide bushing. The back spindle accepts workpieces up to 1mm with 10mm protrusion length.
Despite its micro focus, the R01-VI carries 17 tool positions including rotary tools at 8,000 RPM for cross-drilling and micro-milling operations. Front drilling capacity reaches 3mm with M3 tapping. Back spindle drilling reaches 3mm with M3 tapping. The 8mm square turning tools are scaled precisely for micro-diameter work. Rapid feed rates reach 30 m/min across all axes.
At 1,100 kg with just 3.4 kVA rated power consumption (1.6 kVA average under load), the R01-VI is one of the most compact and energy-efficient CNC machine tools manufactured. The body depth of just 535mm makes it suitable for cleanroom installations and temperature-controlled micro-machining cells.
