Overview

The Sodick AL600P i Groove+ Edition is a mid-large format linear motor wire EDM with 600 x 400 x 350 mm (23.6 x 15.75 x 13.78 in) X/Y/Z travel, a 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) workpiece capacity, and Sodick’s premium Smart Pulse generator. The AL600P steps up from the AL400P in every dimension that matters for larger die and mold work: 50% more X-travel, 33% more Y-travel, 40% more Z-travel, and double the workpiece weight capacity.

The four-axis linear motor drive system on X, Y, U, and V axes delivers zero-backlash, zero-wear positioning. At the AL600P’s larger travel scale, the advantages of linear motors over ball screws become more pronounced. Sodick backs the positioning accuracy with a 10-year guarantee.

The i Groove+ wire deflection compensation system maintains dimensional accuracy through direction changes and tight corners across the full 600 mm X-travel envelope.
