ŠMT a.s. of Plzeň, Czech Republic, builds heavy machine tools for large workpieces; the company says its machine tool production dates back to 1911. Its main products are the FCW and HCW horizontal boring and milling machines and the SR series of heavy horizontal lathes, alongside FC milling machines, WP and WPA portal milling machines, the S-MT multifunction machine, rotary tables and milling heads. The company also carries out general overhauls and modernisation of machines and has a subsidiary in China.
