Price estimate
We do not have a price for the ShopSabre ShopMaster Pro 8 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The ShopSabre ShopMaster Pro 8 is a 4x8 CNC plasma table built for continuous production: AC digital servo motors, a 2,500 ipm (63.5 m/min) rapid traverse and an integrated 24 in (610 mm) water table. Its cut area is 52 x 98 in (1,321 x 2,489 mm), the same as the SideKick 8, and nearly everything else about it is heavier.
The frame is the clearest difference. Where the SideKick stands on legs, the ShopMaster frame is supported along the floor so that no weight hangs between supports. ShopSabre describes it as a non-suspension design and says it is intended for two- and three-shift days. For the buyer that translates into thicker plate on the slats without the bed sagging, which is also why the table lists a cutting capacity of up to 6 in (152 mm), cutter dependent.
The deep water table is not just a tank. An air bladder raises and lowers the water level by +/- 6 in (152 mm), so plate can be cut at or just under the surface to hold down smoke and heat distortion, then the level dropped to pick parts off the slats. The Well Equipped package fills it with 55 gallons of Plasma Defense treatment.
Servo drive pays off on thin sheet, where cuts run at high feed and the gantry has to hold its speed through corners. The package lists a Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC, and ShopSabre states the table is compatible with Hypertherm XPR and Thermal Dynamics UltraCut high-definition systems. Repeatability is +/- 0.002 in (0.051 mm). Footprint is 91 x 127 x 59 in (2,311 x 3,226 x 1,499 mm).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,500 ipm (63.5 m/min) rapid traverse from closed-loop AC digital servo motors
- 24 in (610 mm) water table with an air bladder that moves the water level +/- 6 in (152 mm)
- Non-suspension frame supported along the floor, intended for two- and three-shift work
- Compatible with Hypertherm XPR and Thermal Dynamics UltraCut high-definition systems
- Cutting capacity listed up to 6 in (152 mm), cutter dependent
Limitations
- The package comes with a Powermax45 SYNC; high-definition cutting means choosing an XPR or UltraCut system instead
- A 24 in (610 mm) deep water table is heavy when full and needs a level, load-bearing floor
- Repeatability is listed at +/- 0.002 in (0.051 mm), the same as the SideKick 8
- 4x8 is the smallest ShopMaster; there is no 4x4 size

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The cut area is the same, 52 x 98 in. The ShopMaster Pro 8 has AC servo motors and a 2,500 ipm rapid traverse where the SideKick 8 lists 1,500 ipm, a floor-supported frame, a 24 in water table with an air bladder, and a cutting capacity of up to 6 in against up to 2 in.
02
It is a welded, leak-tested 24 in (610 mm) table with an air bladder, or air ballast, system. Air pressure changes the water level by +/- 6 in (152 mm), so the operator can raise the water to the plate for cutting and lower it to retrieve parts from the built-in catch tray.
03
ShopSabre states that the ShopMaster is compatible with Hypertherm XPR and Thermal Dynamics UltraCut systems and lists high-definition options as dependent on the machine model. The Well Equipped package itself comes with a Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC.
04
The table is 91 x 127 x 59 in (2,311 x 3,226 x 1,499 mm). It ships fully assembled. Add space for the rolling operator control stand, the plasma power source and loading access on at least one long side.
