LVD Electra FL 3015 vs Mazak OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL

LVD vs Yamazaki Mazak · CNC Laser Cutting Machines

01

Summary

The LVD Electra FL 3015 and the Mazak OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL are flat-sheet laser cutters for the same standard sheet: 3,000 x 1,500 mm on the LVD and 1,524 x 3,048 mm (60 x 120 in) on the Mazak. The difference is the source. The LVD uses a fiber laser offered from 3 kW to 10 kW; the Mazak uses a Panasonic YL-F40 direct diode laser at a 0.97 micron wavelength.

The LVD publishes the tighter repeatability, ±0.015 mm (±0.0006 in) against +/- 0.03 mm (0.0012 in), and runs a Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl with the Touch-L interface. The Mazak runs MAZATROL PreviewG on a 19-inch touchscreen. The LVD is the lighter machine at 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) against 16,500 kg (36,376 lb).

Verdict

Choose by material mix. The LVD Electra FL 3015 suits mixed mild steel, stainless and aluminum work where the option of up to 10 kW and ±0.015 mm repeatability matter, and shops already running LVD press brakes or a Siemens control. The Mazak OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL suits fabricators cutting a lot of reflective metal such as aluminum, brass and copper in thin-to-mid gauge, which is where its direct diode source is aimed.
