Overview
The DN Solutions DNM 6700 is the large-table member of the DNM family, stretching axis travels to 1,300 x 670 x 625 mm (51 x 26 x 25 in) while keeping the same box-way rigidity and Fanuc control that made the DNM series the best-selling VMC platform in DN Solutions' lineup. If the DNM 5700 doesn't have enough Y-travel or Z-depth for your work, the 6700 is the next step up without jumping to a 50-taper machine.
The spindle matches the 5700's spec: ISO 40 taper, 8,000 RPM, 18.5 kW (25 hp), and 117.8 Nm (87 ft-lb) of torque. The table grows to 1,500 x 670 mm (59 x 26 in) with a 1,300 kg (2,866 lb) load capacity — that's a serious work surface that handles large molds, die plates, and multi-part fixtures. The 625 mm Z-travel gives you 115 mm more depth than the 5700, which matters for deep-cavity mold work and tall part features.
Rapid traverse rates stay at 36/36/30 m/min (X/Y/Z), keeping non-cutting time competitive despite the larger travels. At 8,500 kg, the DNM 6700 has substantially more mass than the 5700, translating to better vibration damping on heavy cuts. The box-way construction handles aggressive roughing feeds in tool steel and cast iron that would chatter lighter linear-guide machines. The DNM 6700 fills the gap between mid-size 40-taper VMCs and the larger, more expensive 50-taper platforms.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,300 mm X-axis and 670 mm Y-axis travel handle larger parts than most 40-taper VMCs, delaying the need for a 50-taper machine
- 625 mm Z-axis travel provides the depth needed for deep-cavity mold work and tall part features
- 1,300 kg table load capacity supports heavy fixtures, tombstones, and large mold bases without compromising accuracy
- Box-way construction with 8,500 kg machine weight delivers exceptional rigidity for heavy roughing in tool steel and cast iron
- Same proven DNM platform with 30,000+ global installed base — parts availability and service support are excellent
Limitations
- 8,000 RPM spindle speed may limit high-speed finishing on complex surfaces — consider the 12K or 15K RPM option for fine mold finishing
- 8,500 kg weight and 3.35m width require significant floor space and may need reinforced flooring
- ISO 40 taper limits tool size and cutting force compared to 50-taper machines for the heaviest roughing
- Larger travels mean longer positioning time on small parts compared to a compact VMC

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New DNM 6700 machines run $95,000-$140,000 depending on spindle speed, tool changer capacity, and options. The premium over the DNM 5700 is typically $15,000-$20,000 for the larger travels and table. Used machines sell in the $40,000-$75,000 range.
02
The DNM 6700 handles most work that doesn't require extreme cutting forces. The 40-taper spindle and 25 hp motor can rough steel aggressively with proper tooling. Step up to a 50-taper (like the Mynx series) when you regularly need CAT 50 tooling, higher spindle torque, or even larger travels.
03
The DNM 6700 has box-way construction versus the Haas VF-4's linear guides, giving it superior heavy-cutting rigidity. Both have similar travels and table sizes. The Haas has a lower base price and faster tool changes. For steel and cast iron heavy cutting, the DNM 6700 wins; for lighter-duty aluminum work, the Haas is more cost-effective.
04
The DNM 6700 is available with 8,000, 12,000, or 15,000 RPM spindle options. The 8K is standard and best for heavy steel/iron work. The 12K and 15K options add high-speed finishing capability for mold work and aluminum, though they trade some low-end torque for the higher speed.
