Brother Speedio R650X2

The Brother Speedio R650X2 is a discontinued 30-taper machining center with 650 × 400 mm (25.6 × 15.7 in) of X and Y travel, 305 mm (12.0 in) of Z with a 435 mm (17.1 in) option, and a table quoted per face at 800 x 400 (31.5 x 15.7). It carries a 10,000 rpm BT30 spindle and offers three magazines: 14 or 22 tools on the random shortcut changer, or 40 tools on a double-arm changer.

The 40-tool option is what sets this model apart within its family. Forty BT30 tools hold the complete set for several part numbers, so a cell can switch jobs without touching the magazine. The tool-change rows quote 0.7/0.8 sec tool to tool and 1.4/1.6 sec chip to chip for 14 and 22 tools, plus a third pair in the position of the double-arm changer: 2.6 sec chip to chip, with tool to tool listed as 0.9. The table does not label that pair explicitly, so confirm which changer it belongs to before using it in a cycle-time estimate. Air demand is likewise given as 50 / 100 L/min without saying which build draws the higher figure.

The Z option changes the working height markedly. Standard spindle nose to table is 250 - 555 mm (9.8 - 21.8 in); with the 435 mm Z it becomes 250 - 685 mm (9.8 - 27.0 in). That extra height is for tall parts, angle plates and rotary units, though tool length is still capped at 200 mm (7.9 in), with 80 mm (3.1 in) diameter and 3.0 kg (6.6 lb) per tool.

Load is 200 kg (441 lb) per face, with 300 kg (661 lb) printed in brackets and no condition given. The spindle reaches 10,000 rpm with 16,000 rpm optional and is rated 10.1 kW for 10 min and 7.0 kW continuous; tapping goes to 6,000 rpm. Rapids are 50 m/min (1,969 ipm) on all axes. The listed table gives no maximum cutting feedrate.
