Verdict
There is no overlap in the work. The BM 2740 is for mold bases, die plates and heavy structural parts up to 10,000 kg that need a 50-taper spindle and 4,000 mm of X travel. The Haas CM-1 is for small medical, electronics and watch parts, engraving and micro-milling, where 30,000 rpm and a 150 lb table limit match small precision work. A shop buying one would not use the other in its place.
