Overview
The DN Solutions LYNX 2100 LMSC is the heavyweight of the LYNX 2100 LM sub-spindle lineup. It packs a 10-inch (254 mm) chuck, sub-spindle, and live tooling into a machine that still fits in a compact footprint. If you need done-in-one capability for larger-diameter parts and want the torque to push through steel and stainless, this is the one.
The main spindle runs at 3,500 RPM with 18.5 kW (25 hp) and 269 N-m (198 ft-lb) of torque — the most torque in the entire LYNX 2100 LM family. That extra grunt lets you take heavier cuts in harder materials without worrying about stalling. Max turning diameter is 300 mm (12 in) with 497 mm (20 in) of turning length.
The sub-spindle handles backside machining automatically, and the 12-station turret with 6,000 RPM live tooling works on both spindles. You're getting complete parts every cycle — OD turning, ID boring, threading, cross-drilling, and backside facing all in one setup.
At 4,100 kg (9,039 lb), the LMSC is notably heavier than its siblings, which reflects the more robust construction needed to support the larger chuck and sub-spindle combination. The machine stretches to 2,837 mm (112 in) long and 1,602 mm (63 in) wide. It's still compact for what it offers, but you'll want to make sure your floor can handle the weight concentration.
The FANUC 0i-TF Plus control manages the main spindle, sub-spindle, live tooling, and part transfer synchronization. The programming is the same across the LYNX 2100 LMS family, so if your operators know one, they know them all.
This machine earns its keep in shops running production volumes of 10-inch chuck parts that need both ends machined. Hydraulic fittings, couplings, valve bodies, and similar components are right in its wheelhouse. The combination of torque, chuck size, and sub-spindle capability in this compact package is hard to match at the price point.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 10-inch chuck with sub-spindle is rare in this compact size class — most competitors require a larger platform
- 269 N-m (198 ft-lb) torque is the strongest in the LYNX 2100 LM family for roughing in tough materials
- Done-in-one capability eliminates second ops and dramatically reduces part handling
- 18.5 kW (25 hp) spindle has real authority for production roughing in steel and stainless
- Live tooling at 6,000 RPM on both spindles for complete part machining with milling features
- FANUC 0i-TF Plus control with reliable sub-spindle synchronization
Limitations
- 3,500 RPM max speed is limiting for small-diameter aluminum work requiring high surface speeds
- 4,100 kg (9,039 lb) is significantly heavier than the LMSA/LMSB — needs proper floor prep
- 497 mm (20 in) max turning length is the shortest in the family due to larger chuck
- Premium pricing over the non-sub-spindle LMC may not justify for low-volume work

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The 10-inch chuck, larger spindle motor, and reinforced sub-spindle assembly add about 500 kg over the LMSB. The extra mass actually helps with vibration damping during heavy cuts, so it's a feature as much as it is a weight penalty.
02
Yes. The 269 N-m of torque and 25 hp spindle give it genuine capability in 304 and 316 stainless. It won't match a 30+ hp PUMA for aggressive roughing, but for typical production turning of stainless parts in the 10-inch chuck range, it's more than adequate.
03
The PUMA series offers more spindle power, larger swing, longer turning length, and typically box-way construction. But it's also significantly larger, heavier, and more expensive. The LMSC fills the gap for shops that need sub-spindle 10-inch capability but don't need the size or price tag of a full PUMA.
04
Standard magazine and hydrodynamic bar feeders from LNS, IEMCA, and FMB integrate with the LMSC. The bar feeder choice depends on bar diameter range, stock length, and required changeover speed. Your DN Solutions dealer can recommend compatible models.
